The Opportunity - Senior Product Marketing Manager 

As the Senior Product Marketing Manager you will report into the Sr Director, Product Marketing and will play a key role in influencing and driving a core pillar of our 3-5 year strategy. Supporting the Accounting product and channel, you’ll have the opportunity to help make the world better for small business owners and accounting partners directly by impacting our product roadmap based on their needs and launching products to the market effectively. The Product Marketing team helps leaders and teams from across the organization build better products, understand our customers better, and build value for our customers in more meaningful & efficient ways. 

What You'll Do as a Senior Product Marketing Manager 

  • Work closely with the Accounting Product team and Marketing teams to build and execute products and features that meet our customer needs and help achieve business goals
  • Use customer insights, data analytics and research to develop go-to-market strategies for product releases. Your strategies may include the following:
  • Partnering with our Research team to understand market size, demand and trends
  • Competitive analysis, Segment and target audience analysis and Pricing & packaging recommendations
  • Define customer needs, including user and buyer personas, which may include speaking to customers, accountants, and sales
  • Develop clear product positioning, including features and benefits, and a compelling content strategy to help land positioning
  • Align and enable cross-functional teams for go-to-market success by establishing strong partnerships and delivering the tools, information, resources, and collateral they need
  • Be a customer advocate and product storyteller. Effectively and clearly convey your message internally across FreshBooks, and externally to customers, partners, and accountants
  • Develop deep expertise on the product line(s) and work with the Product team to provide input towards the north star vision and support the product roadmap
  • Create a strategy for internal awareness and enablement for new products and features. This includes building frameworks for new forms of company communications such as newsletters, presentations, intranet sites, videos, information packages, shared calendars, etc.


What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Post-secondary education, with a focus on accounting and/or business
  • 5-7 years of experience in Marketing, at least 3 years in Product Marketing 
  • Proven work experience or strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting standards in your previous roles/education
  • A strong desire to contribute to the evolution of the accounting industry and the roles that accountants and bookkeepers play in their engagements with small businesse
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and situations concisely and clearly from different functional perspectives with both peers and senior levels and experience in creating and delivering presentations to cross functional stakeholder groups including executive team
  • Driven to understand and solve client needs with the ability to distill information into insights and effectively articulate concepts and align the organization to address them


You'll Stand Out If You Bring Experience In

  • Experience in B2B (or B2C) SaaS solutions is a plus
  • Excellent organization skills, independent thinking and flexibility
